English as an Additional Language (EAL)

At Bell Farm Primary School, we place huge value on the diversity of our children. We currently have 28 different languages in school, spoken by children ranging from completely new to English, to fluently bilingual.
Language is celebrated around the school, with opportunities for children to find out about different countries and learn new words in the main languages spoken at school.
We have a range of support for new learners of English in school, including:
- Clicker 8
- Racing to English
- PENpals
- Bilingual Texts
- Widgit software
We have a supportive New Arrival Induction Procedure to ensure that children settle in quickly and are happy in school.
